The optimus green instruments are ideal for environmental noise measurements and can be combined with the CK:670 and CK:680 outdoor measurement kits to further expand their use.

Comprehensive measurement capability
The overall Leq, Lmax and statistical Ln% values are measured along with a range of noise profiles providing a complete picture of the noise under investigation.

Real-time 1:3 Octave Bands
The B & C variants will measure and store RealTime 1:3 octave bands from 6.3Hz to 20kHz throughout each and every measurement, with the overall value along with a time history stored automatically.

Acoustic Fingerprint triggering and audio recording
As well as the VoiceTag recording, the optimus green instruments provide audio recording during measurements using the Acoustic Fingerprint technology. Recordings can be started either manually or automatically when user defined triggers are activated. Audio recordings can be stored either as Studio 96/32 quality which can be used for later analysis, or as Standard 16/16 quality which can be used for replay and source identification.

Tonal noise detection
The C variants use either the ISO 1996-2:2007 Simplified Method or the Cirrus improved method to highlight tonal noise in 1:3 octave bands.

Repeating measurements
Measurements can be either started manually or automatically by the measurement
control functions. This allows the instruments to make repeated measurements over long periods of time, ideal when the instrument is used with an outdoor noise measurement kit.

The CR:1710, CR:171A and CR:171B instruments also carry PTB Type Approval to IEC 61672 & DIN EN 45657.

Optimus Red for Occupational Noise

The optimus red sound level meters are the ideal sound instruments for occupational noise and industrial hygiene measurements, as well as for basic noise surveys.

UK & EU Noise at Work Regulations
If you are working to the UK Control of Noise at Work Regulations or the EU Physical Agents (Noise) Directive, the Leq View gives you the information that you need. The LAeq and LCPeak values are measured at the same time which allow the LEP,d (LEX,8h ) and the Peak Action Levels to be determined. The LCeq-LAeq (C-A) value is also measured which can be used to select PPE using the HML method. LAE is also measured along with LZPeak for regulations that use this rather than LCPeak.

OSHA,MSHA & other regulations
The Quick Setup gives access to a number of preset functions including OSHA HC & NC, OSHA HC & ACGIH and MSHA HC & EC. The custom settings can be used to choose any other setup or configuration that you may need.

Octave Band Filters for Noise Control & Selecting Hearing Protection
The CR:162C and CR:161C instruments also feature realtime octave band filters which will measure the noise in 10 different frequency bands.

NR & NC values & curves on screen
The D variants add NR & NC values and curves to the 1:1 octave band measurements.

The CR:161A, CR:161B & CR:161C instruments also carry PTB Type Approval to IEC 61672.

Optimus yellow

There are many noise measurement applications where integrated noise levels, such as Leq or LAVG , are not required and where basic noise data such as Sound Level (SPL) or Maximum Sound Level (Lmax ) are all that is needed. These applications include simple noise level testing, noise ordinance enforcement and testing of fire and emergency alarms.

The optimus yellow instruments are ideal for these applications and can be upgraded to add further functions, future proofing your investment.
